It's safe to say we're pretty blown away by Welsh singer/songwriter Violet Skies, who's a dab hand at blending raw emotion with sparse electronic soundscapes and soft, skeletal piano keys. Following on from her June-released Dragons EP which featured the breathtaking single ‘How the Mighty’, she's back with the spellbinding ‘One Day, Three Autumns’, a woozy ballad ignited with an opening sample from the ultimate ode to lost love, Hollywood classic A Farewell to Arms. As plaintive piano chords roll in, Violet Skies' subdued voice gently filters through, swiftly ramping up to a soaring, achy chorus of “they say, one day, is like three autumns” (a nod to time's glacial pace when waiting for love to return, we reckon).
